2 aluminum 10 dvc or 1 titanium 12 dvc. why

depends if ide want some awsome quality bump, or some good quality lotsa bump.. I think the 12" would just fall short of the 2 10"s in SPL, and sound better. I'de go with the 1 12" because its just a better woofer. If you want louder get 10"s, but eclipse's arnt SPL subs so if u want to get really loud ide look into something else..

i am very happy with my eclipse 9122's 12" aluminum cone subs. this is after coming from two JL 13W7's. if you want something really amazing, go with a single 13W7

Why did you switch from the w7 to the eclipse.

the W7's belonged to my girlfriends shop. i just borrowed them for a short time (6 months) or so.

the alums are better drivers for teh money. the aluminums are pretty good drivers, while the titaniums don't deliver what they should for hte rise in price.

the new eclipse titanium pro series are unbelievable. but they have quite a big price tag too.

I have the old model. The 88120TI DVC. What do you think of that model. The only flaw is that it has a little rip in the surround. I will patch it with some sort of glue. does not effect the performance. got rip while taking it out. Thinking of selling if I go with the 2 10 aluminums. If I could find another 88120ti, I may keep it. at the moment I am only giving each voice coil 250watts.

Heard both set ups in a 96 Mustang sealed box on both running off a Directed Audio 800 Watt amp. Tens were much crisper and as loud if not louder than the 12. I was actually a little disappointed in the one twelve, but it could have used a better box too, IMO.

chances are that it was the box. eclipses are a little sensitive to what box they are in. you have to take the whole install into mind when dealing with different subs and boxes.
