I just recently had my Eclipse headunit installed. Really liked the headunits features, it was just as good as any other on the market so I chose it due to the ESN security thing. Now I am trying to decide if I want to put the ESN stickers on my door windows like they suggest. I don't think many people would be interested in an Eclipse headunit, do mainly to it not being worth the hassel. I know that from outside the vehicle it is hard to tell for sure that it is an Eclipse, so I don't want it getting stolen just because they mistook it for a Pioneer, etc. with the face left on. I also don't want stickers to attract attention to anything else in the truck. Like the amp or sub!

So should I put the stickers in the windows?

I have used 4 different Eclipse decks over the past 10 years, and I never put the stickers on. You should love your deck. Eclipse makes very nice stuff.

The average run-of-the-mill car thief isn't going to know what ESN stands for or how it works, other than it means you are trying to protect something valuable inside your car (which would mean that they would want to take it from you).

Ecilpse=way better than any other HU brands
So, Eclipse+YourCar=Broken windows and a stolen head unit that the theif wont be able to use
But it's also a headunit that HE can't use since it is in the theifs possession //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

This turning in to an interesting thread. It is just hard to decide either way.

I have the factory org theft sticker on there now. Thought about just taking it off, but maybe leaving it in is a better idea. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

Just call me Captain Indecisive.

it is also a HU that will be replaced for free within one year of purchase- no other car audio company stands behind their product in that aspect

besides a thief will be looking for more than just a HU once he breaks into your car- if they want they will take it- no need to live in fear- Equip yourself with an alarm if you keep valued possesions in your car-regarless of HU brand

I dont have my stickers on my windows, but if i did, by the time you can barely see it my proximity sensors will be warning you to BTFU //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
