Eclipse SC8355.........woot?

So im looking into some diffrent components because i cant seem to find a place that sells the alpine type-x mid bass kit in american dollars. So i was looking around and found these. Anyone got any experince with Eclipse speakers? I just bought this. So i gotta work around that. Suggestions? I dont HAVE to have a three way system, but if i can swing it would like to try it.

wow. for $1k i'm sure there are decent front stage options out there. well if you've already bought the amp, $700 front speaker set.

Yeah its alot of loot to throw down. If nothing else i may just get the 5.25 type-x's but it seems like a shame to waste the extra power.

If you can get them for a good price, they are probably some of the best in thier price range... they solve some problems... the three way allows a lower crossover point to the mid than normal (1,400 hz), but the speakers don't need much more room than a typical 2-way.

Whats the advantage of horns? Do they sound better in regular speakers?

I have heard the X's and some Eclipse speakers, but not that model. I'm sure the Eclipse set would sound better overall... like I said, it solves some problems with typical two-way systems... the lower crossover point will blend the tweeter and mid better around the crossover point... it's physics.
