I've had my cd3434 for about 8 months now, i've only used the loudness control a few times, but haven't used it recently. I recently installed some subs and was wondering if turning on the "loudness" control on is ok at low volumes? I wanted to hear some bass at the low volumes. Also does the loudness control only work for low volume levels? I turned on the loudness and cranked the HU up to around 60 without the subs hooked up. While at 60 i turned off the loudness level, i didn't hear a real decrease in sound. The manual says loudness control increases bass and treble at low volumes, does it also increase it at high volumes? Would turning on "loud" and running the volume at moderatly high levels be a bad idea with the subs hooked up?? I checked the amp out with the subs disconected while loudness was on and cranked to 60/80, the amp wasn't clipping, i have an alpine MRD-M300 and the clipping light didn't come on at all. Good idea? Bad? Just want to be able to feel some bass.
