SVC stands for source volume control. it acts as a gain knob. you adjust it so that it the signal from the iPod matches to the signal with the deck (exactly how you use the gain at the amp to match the input of the deck).i have not used the iPod adapter for the cd5000, but from what everyone has told me it is easy as hell to use. all your controls and options are on the HU screen. artists, play lists, albums etc etc.i saw the same exact thing on ebay when i was looking for the ipc-106 for my eclipse. that shit is just a half *** way of connecting an ipod to the HU. might as well use the adapter that the HU was designed to use</blockquote>
