eclipse head unit...i want one!

so ive decided i want a new HU. only thing is i want a nice eclipse HU. maybe something old school with the 8volts? or something new like the cd7200??? not too sure so show me what you got. please have pics of your items...also note that i dont want to spend a arm and a leg here.

CD 8445...well i dont really know. just give me the mod. number and price and ill do some research on them...ive read that a copper chassis radio will help cut down on unwanted noise...is this correct? if so then id like one like that...

cliffs: i want a really nice eclipse radio that sounds good. i dont care for fancy lights or whatever. i think you buy a radio to listen to not watch. if you wanna watch something thats why theres tv

$425 really isn't a bad price though considering it's new in the box and it comes with the ipod adapter. Maybe he'll take like $400 for it. If I were selling I wouldn't take less than that, they retail for like $600 at a brick and mortart store. Plus so far from what I've seen on this forum atsaubrey is an awesome person to do business with.

You should add the Eclipse CD8053 and CD8443 to your list. These are at the top of the list for Eclipse when it come down to their units with built in processing.

And no the 5303 is not an active nor is the Nak CD700.

Now if you're looking at the the 5303 and CD700 and want to stay with eclipse I would look into the old school ECD units like the ECD-414, 415, 416, and 510. These are the arguably the best head unit Eclipse has ever built, beside the Sound Monitor line that is not sold in the US. Their Voltage output is not 8 volts, but for the price they can be had for with he extra money just buy your self a nice line driver to boost the signal. I collect the ECD unit (have are 9 of them) and i'm going to use a 510 in my comp car. If you are interested in one I might be will to sale another one of my ECD-414. I just sold the one and willing to let one more 414 go as had 4 of them, now 3 only need 2. Just on option. But do a little research on them.

And ya your not going to find a DRZ for under 500 bux, I know I have one of these also, but i don't remember you saying that was your budget or not. Anyway good luck with your search.

7200MKII is a nice unit but theres some stuff i dont like about it, i would even consider trading it for another active HU....controls are weird and its almost near impossible to see the time or how loud the radio is....text is almost non-existent if the suns pointing into your car

I'm using a 8053 right now, and have a 8443 sitting right next to me...not sure if I want to sell though. I love the Eclipse 8V decks though, only HU's I'll use after using Alpine and Pioneer as well.
