Eclipse EA4000

IIRC that amp was just recently released, which means not very many people are going to have any experience with it.

IMO looks like a good amp. Top mounted controls are nice.

Though I'm curious as to how it works......they don't list a 2ohm/channel power output rating, but they say it is 4ohm bridgeable. And the 4ohm "bridged" power rating is what the amplifier should produce at 2ohms per channel, and not 4ohm bridged (that is, if it works like a "normal" amplifier). And then on the Power Output (max.) figure......they list it as 10% THD 2ohm, but then they put 4ohm in parenthisis after the 400w figure.

So, I guess I'm just a little confused on the power ratings, and if the amplifier actually is or isn't 2ohm/channel capable (not that it matters for your purposes......just curious how it works).

Nice looking and nice sounding amp...just played with it at my Eclipse dealer the other day...The EA line has been upgraded but is still Eclipse line of "budget" amps...for $340 it's a great value...owner of the shop put it between the older EA series but not as good as the PA series...I'm sure you'd be happy with it...

thanks for your answer......

Im just confused too, but in the manual says:

"this amp is 2ohms stereo stable"

really freak, no?

I sold an Alpine 300s amp.... and I think, this eclipse its better than alpine 300s...
