You may try plugging your rear rca into the sub amp. Just to ensure you don't have a issue in the sub channel. I always set my amp gain with the sub channel maxed out. I wander if your issue is more in the effieciency of the speakers and sub. If your setting the HU gains for max volume (mine was 77 but set at 70) but you listen to your music at 50-60 then your speakers may be overpowering your sub. Your sub will require alot more wattage to gain max potential. In some situations you are better off setting your sub gain at normal listening levels and your speaker gains at near max. You can always decrease the bass volume if needed. I don't know if your HU allows you to control the speakers decibles in time alignment. If so, it is very usefull for this. With the 8455, I set my sub gain at volume 50, the mids at 65, and my tweets at 70. In time alignment I can lower the decible output of any channel. Right tweeter, Left Tweeter, Right Mid, Left Mid, Right sub, and Left Sub all are independantly changed. Deepending on what I listen to my profile can be saved. If it is rap and I want alot of bass but lower midrange and highs I switch to a setting with the sub at 0 decible cancellation. If I am listening to rock and want less bass I just switch to a custom with -13 decible cancellation and I still have the sub volume control. I hope this helps out and good luck.

[QUOTE="mikegett, post: 1253202, member: 561005"] Slaugh, we just spent two months attepting to explain how preout voltage works and your giving advice on gains. HiAmplidude, how are you burning your mp3 disks. Do you place alot of subfolders, jpegs, regular audio on your disk? All of these will slow down the speed your deck reads the files. Try to avoid placing alot of subfolders on the disk. I don't use winamp, so I can't comment on there software. I use nero and make one folder for each artist. Inside of the artist folder is the album folder. From there, I have the album. If you burn your disk in this manor, with three folders deep, and still have a slow response then check out a demo unit. After that, the unit buffers your deck info to the memory. It should be nearly instantaneous for track changes. Fatryan, sorry about leaving you for last. It is hard to say why your bass is so flat. Did you change your sub box and get a leak? You may try plugging your rear rca into the sub amp. Just to ensure you don't have a issue in the sub channel.
