EBay sniping is when a program puts a bid in for you at the last second effectively winning you the auction at the next lowest possible bid. IMHO its kinda cheep because its not fair, but welcome to life.

A) Sniping is nice because you can get auctions while at work

B) Stoping snipers is easy, place your max bid, instead of bidding 50 cents above the last one.

If you get sniped it was because you were cheap in the first place, if that is not the case, then he was willing to pay more for the item than you were anyway.
