Earthquake PHD-2 on a XXX15 pros and cons...

put a bid on a used like new PHD2 on ebay and max im going to spend on it IF i win is 345 shipped..

here's my concerns:

earthquake PHD's are NOT known for good SQ at all

may not like 1 ohm daily drving...

so im thinking about just running it at 4ohms and getting X amount of watts to it (couldnt find a reasonable answer for a PHD2 @ 4ohms, anyone know?) and maybe this will help with the SQ.

Also when i had my orion 1200d clipping liek a motha F'er on the xxx15, even though it was a distorted signal the XXX was sooo good at makeing clean bass that i didnt even notice the distortion, none the less any clipping (thats a whole another story, learned my lesson as far as tuning the amp CORRECTLY). so hopefully any distortion at 4 ohms would be heard minimually audiable....

then or comps i could just burp it at 1 ohm.....

SO how much power am i looking to get out of my PHD2 @ 12-13 volts (stock alty but 2 red tops and a 1 farad cap).....

and is there anythign else i should know about the PHD2 thats good or bad...i've heard mixed reviews about EQ amps, but i think if done correctly it'll sound good.......

some places online claim 2000w at 4 ohms as well as 2, but i dont thinkt his is right, it would help if http://www.earthquakesound.com accualy listed the specs for this model, but they **** at life......

Im getting my xxx reconed so i have the option of getting it redone to whatever ohm config i want...i was thiking maybe quad 2 ohms so i can burp it at .5ohms and run 2 ohms for daily...but if it DOES do anything from 1500-2000w rms @ 4 ohms i'll just get quad 1 ohm coild so i can have 4 ohms, 1 ohm, and .25ohms.....unless they try and charge me more...then i'll stick with the dual 2ohms.....
