e bay seller said this about the batcap400

... lol. dont mock us occasional smokers!
As for if its better than a battcap, I have no clue. Obviously the rate it discharges would come into play, and I dont know the kinetik's internal resistance, so I cant pass judgement... Though I want a 2400.
if you dont know exactly why your doing something STOP and do some research. then when your certain its what you want / need go to it.

You are still going to want a good base electric system to start before you add something like that unless you are going to run on of the larger Batcaps which are just fast discharge batteries anyway. You will get more over all benefit from a second battery or a large main battery then just adding the model 400. Talk to Louisiana_CRX, I know he runs a lot of Xstatic stuff (8400, 400, etc).

Went to a show the other day and he said a batcap 800 was the same as a kinetik 2400 if that helps?
lol that is funny 800 is alot closer to a kinetik 600. for day in and out use a 400 is lower on capacity by far than the 1400-2400 (talking 2.5 to 5 times as much)...just cause it can do something for 8 seconds doesnt mean it will do it all day ....it needs to recharge like anything else all they are are SMALLER batteries. 2400>800+400.

my understanding is that a batcap discharges faster...

much faster,

then any battery,

= better bass?

but i might be wrong. i was once before.........

Are you really wanting to stir up another cap arguement?

Batcaps and batteries generally do different things for your charging system. If you need capacity for engine-off play time, I would not suggest a batcap for example.

If you think your charging system needs faster reacting time, maybe you should address the cause, not look for a store-bought item that will, when simply wired into the circuit, will solve all your problems.

I assure you, a well designed and implimented charging system will have sufficient 'reaction time' to deal with transient peaks in your music, without the need for a batcap.
