dvd player install problems

I tried installing a jensen 9512ts in my buddies 08 sierra, we hooked everything up and the unit didn't power on.

So we hooked up the power and ground wire directy to the battery and it still didn't come on. Are we missing something? Or do I have a dead unit on my hands? Is there a fuse that can blow on the inside on the unit? Most of them are on the back iirc, thanks in advance guys!!

ehh acc wire... idk you just said power and ground.

Durp. Try it again, and put the acc with the power wire. If it doesnt come on THEN, its fried

h/u ground --> batt (-)

h/u acc ---> batt (+)

what about the red wire from the h/u?

the acc wire is typically the yellow one right?

not exactly needed to ground the amp to the battery, chassis would be fine but w/e. The acc wire is typicaly blue.

Red is ACC

Yellow is Memory or Constant

Black is Ground

And if its a factory Jensen harness

There is a fuse in the noise filter on the yellow wire

ok so connect the red AND yellow wires to the battery +

then ground.

Yes

Then is it dont work at that point

Its fried. The fuse will be a mini ATC 10 amp (red)

It takes a few seconds for Jensens to turn on so give it a lil bit once you hook it up

Yea. Twist the red and yellow together and then try. May have hooked something up wrong in that harness, some vehicles still dont use constant wires.
