The only reason I planned on using the Type S was because I have enjoyed the alpine subs and speakers I have had in the past. I'm not sure if I could fit a 12" sub under my rear seat without raising it. The mounting depth is the biggest issue, otherwise I would have just thrown another Type R in there.
