Can anyone on this site make a drop-in recone for a pair of Dayton HO15's? Called Parts express and they want as much as a new sub for their made-in-china recones with terrible glue joints. PM me please, would like to get these two rebuilt. Thanks!
Finally got moved and now looking for recones. PM'ed @SPLaudio and waiting for him to get back to me. Here are the measurements from the motor/frame if anyone can offer any insight.
Here are the dimensions I measure using a caliper and tape measure from the HO15
Pole OD = 2.53''
Gap = .145''
Top Plate ID = 2.82"
Spider landing to top plate = 1.113"
Distance from top of pole to back plate = 2.089"
Surround landing to spider landing = 3.5"
Frame OD = 15 1/4''
Frame has an 8'' spider landing, but there is a reducer/spacer in place inside the ID of the cast landing that is made for a 7.25'' spider. It does look as if it was glued in and can be removed if needed, would rather not LOL.
Here are a couple pics of the frame/motor assembly:
Haven't heard back from anyone about recone options or parts, so I think I may try and turn these into 12's. Any recommendations where to get a pair of 12'' baskets that bolt up to the 6 bolt motor? Is it a good idea to find a 4-bolt basket and drill it out instead?
Don't doubt you did, I've had many message never show up. Not trying to get on your butt or nothing, mostly hoping that if there is a PM problem that the admin will check it out and make it work. Any idea where I can get a 2.6'' coil? I am messing with the idea of turning the motors into a pair of 12's or 10's, seems parts are easier to come by in the 2.5" coil range. Pair of 10's from these motors would be kinda awesome.
I know I wrote to you bro, cause I remb I didn't have the coils...
