One time I was waiting for my new subs and borrowed a friends single 12 in a box. The box already had a wedge shape to it and it set perfectly down-firing into the well. I was very very surprised. I could tell very little difference between that single 12 down-firing and my 2 12's firing up. I set the box right in the middle and it left about a ft or a little less between the floor and the sub. And had about a 6-8 inch gap on each side. If that makes sense.</p></blockquote><p></p>
