dowgrading from 15'' to 12''

Don't worry i wasn't looking for spl, specialy with the cone area downgrade.I'm more than impress with the output, i wasn't expecting them to be that loud, in such low end bass tracks.

I'll check what they can hit at 20hz with a lot of care. My ad's were doing 132.
Sweet.

If the really low stuff is of interest to you at high output (18hz to 25hz), you can go as large as 5cu.ft tuned to 22hz. At that point you may find you no longer need the SSF. Excursion and will be a factor in the mid to upper 30's for that setup.

And don't listen to people who tell you there's no music down that low. I have recordings, rap and otherwise that have frequencies as low as 7hz. There's some good fun to be had between 15hz and 18hz.

yeah especialy with the epic-160. When used in small dose, it add some interresting content in the low low. Need to watch the excursion tough.

I'll put my ssf a little higher than the actual 15hz. I'll put it back there when i'll be more confortable with those awesome subs and somehow rare now.

I agree, I would go a bit higher with that SSF with your present tuning, maybe to 24hz or so depending on the Q of the filter. If not, you might end up with a couple of these;

so....aluminum cones = less durable? or is this just a tc problem?
I've got over a dozen TC drivers with aluminum cones and not a single failure. I believe for SPL use it's probably not the best option but as long as you respect the mechanical limits of any driver things like this shouldn't occur. I believe it's a user/application problem.

This one has an aluminum cone and it has seen full excursion countless times.

oK I fixed the mouting hole problem and now there's no more noise. I haven't gain any more db though but it's awesome anyway. It sound louder to my ear than my sd2.5s

They sound great seriously... i was expecting alot and they deliver. This time they'll be in my car for more than few months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Nice subs, seriously i always wanted to try some tc sounds subs and they are as great as they are hyped to be

I've got some more hours of listening and I really love the tc9s. Seriously, i'm pushing them with all i got and some more and they were barely warm. They laugh at my power it ain't funny

I also like how they sound better than the Q. The Fi was making every bass line sound lower in freqs than intended while the tc9s play every freqs play at the same level. I'll check with sweep today, but i'm pretty sure it will be 1-2db flat over a big range.

is there a comparable new driver from tc?
