i know so many people (which most are my friends) who are completly ignorant when it comes to car audio yet what little un-true information they "may" know they defend like its their life and get pissed when you tell them there flat out wrong

you try and steer them away from main-stream crap like audiobahn + lanzar + stuff but i guess it is hard trying to teach someone who's been brainwashed by the fast and the furious + pimp my ride, and they feel offended when you tell them what they know is wrong?

Well, not funny... Everyone has to learn for themselves. I for example, have never bought a new headunit my audio friend told me he always bought new ones, even if they cost out the ***, and I just got burned hardcore on the last four I bought, buttons didn't work, the amp toasted... YOu either listen to somebody who knows, or you pay in the end. It'a always fun to be louder than they are anyway.

i have a friend who will literally sell and buy his systems when someone is louder than him........but when someone tells him his stuff is loud, he's like "i think im gonna keep this system, cause so and so said i was loud"

i think everyone has friends that are like this..one of my friends thinks alpine is a piece of shit...cuz his cousin had a deck that broke down on him...i tried telling him alpine makes good decks..and he wouldnt listen to me...

Let them think what they want to think. If he thinks alpine sucks then let him, what ever floats his boat. I know many people who wont touch an apline unit and they arnt stupid, they have there reasons. I dont see the problem with buying mainstream stuff. By the way what makes you such an expert in whats best?

If one of my friend wants to buy a shitty brand amp, I will tell them that amp sucks and if he dont listen oh well but I wouldnt classify him as being ignorant, he just wanted something different. If his system sound like shit Im going to say I told you so and thats it. But there can be a chance that his shitty no name cheap stuff sounds good enough for him.

Im not trying to pick a fight with anyone Im just saying if someone wants to do something or buy something let them. You can voice your options and if they dont want to take it then oh well.

I usually find it better to listen than to talk. Assuming they even have the interest of car audio, what you tell them will usually go in one ear and out the other. It must be the effect of cloudy midrange on the brain or something.

I know what you're saying, but...

That's a horrible example. Both those companies make solid equipment. YOU may not like it, and some other people may not like it, but to say a a "friend" is "completely ignorant" for checking out Lanzar and Audiobahn is just wrong.

The best bet is to offer up advice, but there is no reason to shiz on someone else's parade. We have all been excited about a new audio purchase in the past and did not like to hear anything negative about it. There is always someone who will think there stuff is the great, as well as those who don't. If it's what they like and they can afford it, give them a "man, that sounds good".

man I had to listen to this kid try to sell me on how bad *** his 2 kicker comp12's in a sealed box with a sony xplod 600watt amp and a "gelcell" battery, i'm just bitting my tounge knowing that I could probably kill him with two 8 in TL's and 400 watts i felt sorry for him to tell you the truth
