Hey all I've got a Lightning Audio X1.1000.1D amplifier is not working. I opened up the case to find a few mosfets blown so I purchased them online and replaced them myself. Everything else looks perfectly fine. I hooked up the amplifier and it blows all 3 (30 amp) fuses every time. The wires are all fine, nothing is shorting, I can hook up a different amplifier and it works fine. What else typically goes wrong when mosfets blow?
This is initally what happened: I was playing music (loudly) with the gains slightly up(oops? and no it wasnt completely cranked) and it sounded great, then it cut out and came back on a few minutes later - only it was much quieter and sounded weird. At first I thought something was wrong with my Memphis PR 15's but obviously that is not the issue. Then the amplifier blew all the fuses and that was that. I've looked the board over very closely but can not find anything else that could be wrong.
Anyone have any ideas? I'll put pictures up asap. Also, as a side note, could it have been because of a voltage drop? It's very possible my electrical is lacking.
This was an incredible amplifier, it put out some serious power, I hate seeing it just sitting in a box not being used!
Thanks for any and all input - it is much appreciated!
