do you like this picture?

ehhh...

D50/D70 > Digital Rebel...the Canon feels like a big gray plastic toy to me. I like the feel of Nikon's better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I want an F4s, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Would gladly trade the Contax and Zeiss rig for one.

ok lemans. the focus of the photograph is called a 'form'. the pencil is another 'form', they are just focal pieces in the artwork that people focus their attention on. im not quite sure what the word "tasty" has to do with a pencil, maybe it has somthing to do with the fact that there are teeth marks on it, or maybe it has nothing to do with it at all - maybe its got somthing to do with the lesser form (the text) that says "tobacco"

i reaally like the perspective of the piece, gives it alot of depth, and the contrast is really nice as well, with the orange paper, and the dark letters and the large shadow of the pencil... however, the main focus of a composition should usually avoid the "center" of the artwork, it focus' ones eye straight to the center and impedes the eye flow around the art. i feel that when i look at that piece, i tend to stare at the word "tasty" rather than looking at it all. proof of that is the first reply that the person asked if the word "tasty" was the main focus, and you replied that it was.

so basically, i think it would be a stronger piece if the main form was moved from the center, maybe to the bottom left a little bit to spread your eye some, possibly where the word "commercial" is to promote some more flow in the piece.

i think it would be a bit cooler if you got a brownie or somthing, and put it on the paper - using the same perspective and moving the word tasty over a bit, and putting some crumbs up near the word powerful trailing down to the word tasty. that would be sweet, and the contrast from the top of the brownie reflecting light and the darkness with the shadow would be cool, crumble the brownie up some.

but again - art does not need to make emotional\physical sense, i just think it would be a cool piece and the crumbs would remove some negative space that is there. i just cant find anything else to look at besides the word "tasty", if you know what i mean.

well, hope i helped a little bit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
