Do You Hate E-bay?

I realize what I am about to say does not apply to ALL Car Audio items sold on E-Bay,in fact..... I wish. But I have noticed something that must really piss of most Car Audio enthusiasts who are selling thier "Expensive" components. In fact, I just noticed this in the classifieds on this site.

Basically, I notice that some E-bay Car Audio items go REALLY Cheap and usually in great shape sometimes, Yet this dictates the market price for the item or equal product......For Example. 2 weeks ago I saw a nice woman selling her Husbands Pioneer DEH-940MP with "XM tuner", probably a $700 value new and thats still a good price. It was 2 months old and had EVERYTHING from Box to the Wires was included. Now I see all these other guys trying to sell thier Pioneer 940Mp's in worse condition and missing stuff for a starting bid of like $450 because the poor guy initially paid $800 to CRUTCHFIELD a month earlier. I WON'T TOUCH IT..Because I know I've seen it and can get it cheaper, even though $450 is still a great Price. There are a few component auctions like this that make me want to e-mail the Seller and say "Hey idiot, someone just sold the same thing for $200 cheaper".

It is rare, but does it Piss alot of you guys off. I saw a few ads on here for guys selling thier prized possesion Stereo equipment...not realizing you can get it brand new and hundreds of dollars cheaper one click away at E-BAY..

Any opinions on this?????

eBay is a great resource. i've used it for numerous car audio items, and it's just all about being patient and not jumping on items as soon as you see what you think is a good price.

i get absolutely KILLER deals on everything i buy, but that's only because i do my research first. that's always key.

I TOTALLY AGREE ABOUT REAEARCH..I have been researching for over 3 months with only 1 purchase, but reading descriptions CAREFULLY!!!!..Shipping costs etc..would have honestly saved me loads of Money already on things I initially would have POUNCED on and bought!

My first purchase (and I probably won't even use it myself) was a Rockford Fosgate 250A2 for $33..and the guy lives 20 minutes away so no shipping cost..I watched it like a hawk.

ANOTHER HUGE TIP IS TO SEARCH FOR ITEMS IN WEIRD AREAS AND With MISPELLED ITEM NAMES ETC...I HAVE FOUND THIS VERY SUCCESSFULL SINCE NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW IT's THERE and NO ONE REALLY BIDS..That is what happened with the 940MP Pioneer Premier. The Lady posted the auction as "GOOD PRICE ON CAR STEREO" or something like that..Only 4 people bid..and I was watching the same item in another auction at a higher price with 20 active bidders it was obvious most guys did not even know it was there or what it actually was!!!
