I will start off by saying that I am agnostic. I don't believe in god, but I understand why people do.

I was just reading the new accident thread, and came to the part where "god was watching him." If you really believe this, do you think god would have let this happen?

Let's say you are in New York, and you are about to get mugged, then shot and killed. If god were "watching" you, do you think he would let the bullet hit you? It should stop in mid-air right in front of you, right? or god wouldn't let the muggers gun work at all. Or god would smyte the mugger somehow before he even began?

basically, I want to know why you believe in god.

I don't believe in god because I have grown up being a very scientific person. I find an explanation for everything. The bible is a book of stories that have been translated over and over again, more than likely most of them are fables to begin with. Most people who claim that can change me just give up.

i beleave in god, but my belief structure is a little differnt. in al religions the main thing that sticks out is that god loves all his children, but in some religions it says that if you sin you will goto hell, i dont see how love everyone and eveyrhting how we could be sentenced to hell. where im going with this i donno i havent really decided but i belieave he is real.

fyi- agnostic doesnt mean u dont believe in god...

Agnostic - One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.

Atheism - Disbelief in or denial of the existence of God or gods.

personally i dont believe in god...i think that the church system is nothing but a marketing gimic(sp?).

i personally believe in God and what kng says is true.

This "religion" has been turned into a marketing gimmick so freakin rich pieces of crap pastors get richer while they leech off of the avg joe on minimum wage in return for thier "salvation"

the original church wasnt all the bright lights, GIANT buildings gold lining, dress up in your sunday best (pshh) all that crap. YOU DONT NEED GIANT SCREENS IN YOUR CHURCH!!! unlike nowadays, the church WONT accept anyone outside of thier religion into thier group. i think MAn has made a mockery of the bible with all the stuff thats goin on nowadays in religion, and greatly strayed from what the church was originally meant to be.

okay ill try to answer the best i can im a little rusty on my theology.... I know it sounds like a cop-out, but if it was your time to go, its your time to go. think about it, if God controlled everything that happened to everyone, there would be NO free will. we would have no hearts, no emotions... we would be robots, and God's intention for us was not to be robots, but to love one another. Of course there IS divine intervention (kinda like Pulp Fiction //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif) if the muggers gun stopped, or he dropped dead, then it wasnt your time to go.
