do yall thinks its possible for 2 15 inch k series to beat a brahma 12, the 2 15's will have 500 watts rms a piece in a ported box, and the brahma will have 700 watts rms in a 2.5 cubic foot ported box, so do u think its possible to beat the brahma spl wise, im tellin my friend that the k's will win based on 2 15's vs 1 12 what do yall think??

thanks

Actually, ur the dumbass because the MTX amp isnt 1 ohm stable. U'd have to run the brahma @ 4 ohms so u can expect somewhere's aroud 700 watts. Besides that mtx amp only gives out between 1000-1200w RMS @ 2 ohms. idiot

Well depending on if u get your wattage situation correct!I would have to say the ED k 15's would beat the brahma! Just mainly due to more cone area..But if the brahma had 1600 or more watts to it and the ed ks only had 500..Well I would probably have to go with the Brahma..ALL depending on box design applications!?!?!

yea thats what i was trying to tell him itll only be around 700-800 watts from the mtx amp, unless he plans on using my better audio amp, then it will have about 1600 watts rms, i was just thinking since 30inch against 12 inches is no match, but i dont really care who shuts who down, i just want mine nice and loud

MTX dealer, and fairly close friend of mine, said the MTX's could handle 1 ohm even though they didnt claim they could. Not sure if the output wattage doubles again or not. Anybody know if this is true? he may have only been referring to their class D's which according to their website don't say they will run at 1 ohm.

I've heard a few handle the 1 ohm load and a few fry...I guess you gotta take the risk if you want the power...

i know an audio shop that has an 8100d and a jl w7 13.5 and one of the guys that work there said it wont run at 1 ohm it heats up too fast...but there is a db meter in the car..it is one of the built in ones and it reads like 145 db..which i think is shitty for a 600 +dollar amp and a 700+dollar sub...

Remember that a 1 ohm load rating on a sub is just an average. The actual impedance varies with frequency. There are shure to be some big peaks and dips. The amp may be stable with a certain sub at 1 ohm but choke with another sub at 1 ohm. I don't think that I would take the chance and push it.
