do I ABSOLUTELY have to have this?

go on ebay motors and find the car that looks like yours and post a link real quick

also does your radio look plain or does it have more features - as in the driver information center being displayed on it?

i just installed a new HU in an 01 malibu, the stereo shop claimed i needed that expensive harness also, but i got the cheap one and had to tap into the ignition wire, other than that im glad i didnt waste money on the expensive one

just get it. it will save on install time by like 2 hrs
i will probably get it but is there a cheaper one I can buy?

do I have to use this http://www.crutchfield.com/s_1272RGM11B/PAC-GM-Radio-Integration-Adapter.html?tp=3486

or can I use this http://cgi.ebay.com/Chrysler-Dodge-Replace-A-Radio-Interface-PAC-C2R-CHY2_W0QQitemZ370101454322QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item562bc405f2

I dont know how to do all of that stuff..I barely know how to do the big 3..I dont want to start messing with that stuff too and really screw something up.

When my girlfriend put a radio in her sunfire, a shop tried to sell her the 120 dollar harness, then i bought the 10 dollar harness instead and her car worked just fine. she didnt have her door open chime or the chime when you leave your lights on, but everything else in the car worked just fine.

edit. was thinkin of a diff car. get the standard harness and u just have to fine an acc wire. i.e. ignition or fuse box
where can I get the standard harness from? I dont know where to look. you mean like a wiring harness? and whats an acc wire and all that other stuff? ignition fuse box stuff..

depends on the features the car has. i.e.

onstar, bose/monsoon, ect.

alot of cars it just looses door chimes. but then with the more expensive cars u get the "premium sound". this is where the harness is better used. it triggers the factory amp where as 9 times outa 10 the factory amps dont turn on with out it. meaning no sound. then u have to re-wire the amp and so on. but if u want to door chimes and so on get the harness
