DLS VS Rainbow

Which line of Rainbow comps (geezus they have a lot of lines) are comparable to the DLS Iridium line? Anybody have experience with both DLS and Rainbow that can compare their sound?

Umm well okies here goes

DLS UP6 > Rainbow SLC265

Ranbow SLC265 > DLS M6A

(">" = Better Than)

Rainbow Germanium is the best out of those three. But most expensive.

The Rainbows have more midbass. Tweeters are better on the DLS'. Both use diffrent material in their tweeters so that's why there's a difference. I think the DLS is silk...not sure on the Rainbows.

I chose Rainbow SLCs in my setup since I wanted more midbass. Can't get the Germaniums yet... Plus like the look of the tweeters more so than the DLS.

Soon as I get the Germaniums the SLC comps will be the rear fill.

And I know some others will be in here to help you. But what are you trying to decide on? Let us know what kind of $ you have to spend on a set of components so we can help you out better on deciding which is best.

Thanks for the feeback. Mostly just trying to get a comparison and gather as much info as posible. As far as budget I am willing to go as high as $600. I have been looking at the DLS Iridium set since I decided to get a new car(based on very positive feedback). I've seen a lot of good feedback on Rainbow speakers as well but didn't know which line compared to the Iridiums. I plan on listening to both, if I can(have a local DLS dealer I can check out not sure about Rainbow), before I buy.

Someone is selling a set of Rainbow Profi for $450 on here. Those are a step up from the Germaniums.

Otherwise...if you do want to get Rainbows talk with Don here he's an authorized dealer and can get you a good price.
