DLS UR6 vs Rainbow Germanium

i'd say it would depend on the sets you've had before. i've had kicker ss, diamond hex, cdt 07, and edi6500's, and i'm confident the germaniums are on another level than those. the profi's i'm sure are excellent but if you don't have an ear for tuning you would probably never know the difference.

Ummmm I ran my Professional series off 250w per side at full range sometimes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I'd say get an A3 per side and biamp them biotches!!!

Well thanks bro, so do you think it will work (running an ED NINe.2---at 12.5 volts rated 100x2 @4ohms, and at 14.15 volts rated 130x2, whereas my car runs at 14.2 idle---not bad for stock battery and alt) with those Germs or should I aim for the stars and get some profi vanadiums or somthin... want good bass, good sq, and good sound I listen to fast metal with quick kick drums and such, as well as rap..
My eclipse amp is rated @ 140RMSx2 and i have put it into protection mode several times during extended listening to my germaniums. They **** the powarrr up and just keep asking for more. I checked input power at the volumes i put the amp into protect @ and saw 30-35a so i figure it was really pushing more around 120w per side... I am looking at finding something that would do 250x2 or 150x4(active time!) to put on them. You'll be fine @ 130rms -- and they get VERY LOUD at anything near those power levels :p

Re: the crossovers. My 12w6's dustcap came loose this last week so i've had the chance to listen to the germaniums alot without a sub. I don't think i'd want to play these @ 250w @ full range :p

I've been playing with the crossover and found that they really do play VERY low at a reasonable volume without distorting...it's sick how much they put out really. As you increase the volume you can tell they need to be crossed, but i found it difficult to tell the difference between a 63hz/12db cross and a 63hz/24db cross as far as distortion goes at higher volumes.... it seemed to handle the 63hz/12db just fine in my case... it made me want a 50hz 24db //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. I usually have had it set to 80hz/12db when the sub is in. i'd really like to see what would happen with these set up in a completely active setup...just need the amp for it now.
