DLS UR6 vs Rainbow Germanium

i was pretty set on the germ's until i started thinking about getting a couple DLS A3's to run the system. Are the UR6's comparable to the germanium or would that be the Iridiums?

well i priced the dls amps and they are out of my budget but which comps would you take with 125w per side?

Totally different sound. Germs are more on the efficient side as well- Perfect power for them.

Definitely two different sounding setups, although with the CAL25 tweet and plethora of crossover variables including biamping, I would lean towards the Germs.

yeah the reason i was looking at the dls is because i was looking at their amps too but now since i'm not going with the dls amps i'm definitely going with the germaniums. with 125x2 for power how low do you think i could high pass them?

somewhere in the vicinty of 80, although all install dependant. Theyll play below that as well, but Id use it as a starting point.

The doors in my truck are so big i would be scared to cross them too low. everything is still in the planning stage now but i appreciate all the help.

Not just to Max6spd but to everyone---BTW SORRY not trying to steal ur thread---if I got Germs instead of SLC's, would they run at almost 140 watts---and if not, is there a better line of 6.5" 2-way comps from Rainbow that would run perfect up to 150 w RMS? I looked on the website at the different speakers RMS' and you guys say they can run way higher than that is why I'm asking..

We're in the same boat somewhat Joe..my Avalanche has some nice size doors as well.....

Pbak.... I looking to bridge them out up to 160w x 2...don't know if they can handle that much but their on tap...

from the research i've done i haven't seen a bad review of the rainbows yet. A set being great in multiple different types of installs shows the quality you are getting.

Absolutely....if your going to spend the money..might as well spend a little more and do it right...the one thing that has me a little concerned is the imaging with the stock speaker location....up front....

Well thanks bro, so do you think it will work (running an ED NINe.2---at 12.5 volts rated 100x2 @4ohms, and at 14.15 volts rated 130x2, whereas my car runs at 14.2 idle---not bad for stock battery and alt) with those Germs or should I aim for the stars and get some profi vanadiums or somthin... want good bass, good sq, and good sound I listen to fast metal with quick kick drums and such, as well as rap..
