well what looking into these dlp tv's 3d ready. but I've seen just way to many people complain about dlp. so if you have one please list model, problems, how long it's lasted, how long between bulb replacment.

By the way anyone else seen the 3d they are coming out with???

it is the sweetest thing ever just think of the best 3d movie you have ever seen and X100:eek:

If your going to get a DLP, get a friggin Mitsubishi. They've pioneered just about everything projection and use the highest bit DLP chip made by TI (12Bit versus a 10Bit). Sounds like just numbers but that equates to billions of colors (12Bit) versus millions of colors with 10Bit. They're 3D ready which gives you, at least IMO, a better movie experience than blu-ray. And if someone is going to argue bulbs and efficiency, they draw barely 200W when your plasma draws near 700W AND heats your room up anywhere from 2-6 degrees. Add to that, Mitsubishi just dropped their bulb prices from $289, to $99 across the board. And that new bulb gives you essentially, a brand new TV...

Of course if you've got yourself a brighter room or view it at times from the side, dont even think about it. But if your doing gaming, good amount of movies, and your light issue isnt one...get one. And finally, try to find a 65" flat panel with the same traits for anywhere near $1800...

Just my professional $.02

I was looking at the samsung DLP 3d ready 72" at work, drooling all over it and its only $2300 and comes with the stand. Rediculous price considering there is a 52" DLP samsung that is $2100 right next to it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I have a panasonic DLP for about three years now. It gets steady use as the main TV at the house, still original bulb. I think having a power conditioner helps with bulb life.

I would go along with what the others have said between brands mits and samsung are the two to pick between.

i love my samsung DLP that ive been watching for the past two years.

but if i had the chance to do it over again, i would get a plasma... DLP's are great, pics are awesome, great definition, and the price is right on them. but the brightness is really lacking, no matter what viewing conditions.
