Distributing power

I had some suggestions on my setup, but I don't really understand some of them and wanted to see if one of you could give me a better, or a little more basic explaination.

I was gonna do one CSX18 in my trunk in 7-8cuft on 2000watts, sub up/port back, but I was told that 2 -1000watt 15s would get a good bit louder because they would distribute the power evenly. I was thinking that the single sub would be louder since its getting the most power, even if the 15s win SLIGHTLY in cone area. Am I right, or will the 15s walk all over the 18? If it'll be close I'll still go with the 18. My goal is to get low and loud daily. No mics or comps, just piss off my ears type bass
