Directv ghost image on screen

i have a 50in samsung plasma tv. and i am well aware of the potential to get screen burn and have the tv optins set accordingly and run the white out at least once a day.

that being said, i have directv and when you hit the guide button it displays the directv symbol and date and time in teh top left. i noticed that when i change the channel and the screen goes light gray for a second or when i run the white out option taht there is a ghost image there. but its not the whole thing and its only after you turn the guide on. if you just turn the tv on and dont use the guide its not there. which means its not burn in, in my book. also of all the images to be burned in, i.e all the stupid hd symbols networks feel obligated to put on screen or their station id, why owuld the guide burn in which is hardly ever on.

so anyway, does anyone else have directv and not a plasma tv and have noticed this ghost image?

you could probably contact Direct and just MENTION class-action against directTV on behalf of all Plasma TV owners in the US and they'll change it.

Common mistake in the merging world of computers meet broadcasting. TV white obviously isn't 255,255,255 white and they can be held accountable.

Here at my TV station, we had to lower luminance in static position images and have gone to animated bugs and such to keep burn in possibility to a minimum. We had an agreement with a few large retailers to keep their sets to our station and just one call from a store prompted an IMMEDIATE re-design.
