Directional RCA cables?

I have two sets of stinger expert rcas that i noticed on them they have printed "directional cable" and it has arrows pointing.

my question is should the arrows be pointing toward the HU or toward the amp?

and does it really matter?

The arrows point in the direction of signal flow.

Arrows would run directionally from head unit into the amp(s) for example.

I use them and can say that I have zero engine or system noise.

well that just sucks wasnt the answer i was looking for lol they were already ran in the car before i bought it and they are both ran with arrows pointing into the head unit....

is there any possible way that was the cause of damage done to my avic n1's rca outputs?

i thought directional cables only had the shield grounded at one side... but it wouldnt damage anything if they were connected backwards

so if i have extra time on my hands worth it or not to switch em?

are you having any problems with your system right now? If not...why fix what's not broken?
i was just concerned because i noticed they were going the wrong way, and coincidentally the rcas on my n1 went bad.

i have been having a slight problem. my amp has the switch on it that will change the input sensitivity from 2v-8v or 100mv-2v. well my 9855 says it has 4 volt preouts so shouldnt i have it switched to the 2v-8v? well when i do its just really quiet even with gains turned all the way up. but when i switch it to 100mv-2 volts it gets loud enough i just get engine noise.

so i guess this turns into a couple questions

am i correct in saying that since my preouts are 4 volt i should be able to have the switch in the 2v-8v ?

could my engine whine be fixed when switched to 100mv-2v by changing the direction of the rca's?

It's a marketing gimmick, nothing more. From an electrical engineering standpoint, if the electrons can flow via the wire one way, they aren't going to see any difference in resistance, current, etc... going the other way.

see thats what I thought but I wasn't absolutely positive...your an electrical engineer (or studying to be one)? I start college for electrical & computer science engineering in about 2 weeks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thats true for the signal part of the wire, but i believe the directional part has to do with the shielding
