Directed CompX?

Anyone heard of this sub? is it worth the 600$ price tag?

I have 2 12" COMPX subs, by Directed. These are the best subs I've ever had!

I can sell you 2 brand new ones in BOX for 250 each, instead of 600! Want them, let me know.

A friend of mine has 3 12" Directed CompX subs in his sentra on a Directed 1100D amp...and I am not impressed. I've heard a setup with dual 12" Kicker CompVRs on a 600watt Kenwood amp sound cleaner and got alot louder. Directed's amps are good....but their subs just plain ****. This is just my opinion...but it is based on real experiances.

All I can say is that the compx's must not have had the proper enclosure or sufficent power!!! There is no way kicker compvr's could even touch the compx's if they are installed correctly! The compx's are about the exact same sub as the orion hcca line. But I woudn't touch one for the $600 price tag you talk of. (you can find them for quite a bit less then that)

3 COMPX's on a 1100d? Wow, how much more underpowered can you be? 1000watt rms each sub? The amp only puts out 1600 max, so the subs are way underpowered.

that's why they sounded bad. you have no experience, so don't say you do.

And if you meant he only has ONE DEI 1100d powering all three subs...he would only be sending each sub ~430 watts.

They probably dont have a sufficient box, and your friend probably drives those subs to distortion often.
