Difference worth it?

Ok right now, I have an old style 12 inch Type R in a 2 cube box tuned to 35hz or so. Power is coming from an AP15001D, so it is getting enough juice, but it just isnt enough for me. Will a RE SX in the same box be a noticeable difference in loudness and more importantly low end? Or should I just hold off for something that will really shine on 1500 watts?
