I only gain 3-4 dB when opening a door and pickup trucks are well known for hating to be sealed.

No one gains 10db from opening a door....its not that big of a diff, maybe 5-6 at most....someone prove me wrong on that if ya can

But he has an Explorer...they dont gain any pretty much...they are great legal vehicles

So you just assume the gain was turned up?And this is the 190 not the 3055 with a 175 mic.

It has been established that the 175 is about 3 db off and the 190 is about 1 db off.

My point is not about the score being accurate so much as people just assume that the number is a DB Drag style reading on the dash.

Most people gain going to the kick and then opening a door gains even more.

The numbers he is producing are just about right for the conditions he is describing.2-3 db gain from dash to kick and 5-6 db gain doors open.

Does that sound correct to you?
