diamond vs jl

I would like some feedback on the these two comps. Diamond D661s and JL audio vr650csi. I am starting a system in a 2500hd crew cab. I want to start with comps for the front, and then add some bass with amp. My question is about sound between these two. I have heard the JL comps and really like the sound, but i have read alot of good things about the diamonds and wanted to try something different. How do these two compare in sound quality and midbass?

Any feedback will be appreciated.

As far as I'm concerned you've already answered your own question. You said you liked the sound of the JL's, so go with those. SQ is very opinionated, so even if 100 people recommended the Diamonds, you might still hate them. Go with what you know sound good, that's one of the most important car audio lessons. Honestly, I owned a set of VR5.25's for a while and I liked them. Not the best set I ever heard, but still a solid speaker.

i had to pick between the JL TR's and the DA m361's.......only heard the JLs...went out on a limb and got the DA...never been happier... granted the speakers ur looking at are a level higher than the choices i have, i'd say find a diamond audio dealer.... brng in a CD with somethign u have memorized to the teeth and have them play it for u and see how thy sound. only way to be sure is to listen to both...

but ya my vote goes to the diamonds....

The D6 is a great sounding set. the Aluminum tweets sound good for rap. silk sounds better with other types.

Are there any major mechanical differences between the Diamond M6 and the newer D6 components? If not my vote also goes with the Diamonds.

But, as previously posted, if you like the sound of the JLs then obviously they wouldn't be a bad choice. If you have an opportunity to test out both with some music that you know backwards and forwards that would be the best way to decide.
