I chose to just put enough of a battery bank to not have to worry about alt. I don't drive around full tilting, and I listen to rock which doesn't have test tones thrown into the 'beats' so not too worried about having to recharge the batteries in 12 seconds and stuff. Though it did handle tones for a VERY long time, took about a minute and a half of a pure 36hz test tone at full tilt to get my voltage to hit 11.8 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif.
