Alright, heres the low down... I know a little about audio systems... and i know that 10" are nice and quick... and are great for the SQ that i want in my car.... But i have been debating whether i sould get some 12"s.... the Subs: Infinity Perfect Subwoofers... I'm debating whether to get 10" or 12" in the new VQ series... I'm not looking to spend too much cause i have no job.... but I know im prolly gonna go with PPI in amplifier... does anyone know much about 12" Subs...? i listen to alot of rock so i want quick....... please respond

Thanks

I ran a 12VQ in 2.25cf tuned to 28Hz off my GTO601.1. And ****..sounded good, was very clean and responsive. Got loud for what it was but don't expect to win any dB's drags or comps.

The 10DVQ/VQ will do the same but 12 will obviously be louder.

So the 12"VQ are pretty quick??? so did you just get the DV so that you could get a 2Ohm load out of it.... would you recommend getting SV 12VQs???

I had a 12VQ. VQ is the SVC version of the Kappa Perfect Q's. The DVQ is the DVC. It was quick. Good clean bass. No distortion from my listening experience with it. I sold it to my friend and it's still going strong. I ran it off 100W for 3months then 424 from my 601.1 for about a month. Man...it really opened up with my 424W.

So should i go with the 12VQ SV or the 12DV/VQ??? I am also going with a sealed Enclosure.... B/c the amp i am looking at can take a 4 or 2 Ohm load.....

What amp is it? That will determine which to get. The DVQ will offer more load options (2 or 8ohm) compared to the VQ of only 4ohm load.

Those loads are given you are running ONE sub.

I would Probably be going more towards a

Power Class Amplifier

Channel: 2

4 ohm: 400

2 ohm: 800

Bridged: 1600

Damping: >500

S/N Ratio: >115dB

Dimension: 2.375" x 10"

Length: 30.25"

THD: 02%

Power Input: 4 Guage

Freq. Resp.: 4.5-100k

I/P Sens.: .15-12V

X/O Slope: 12dB

X/O Freq.: 30Hz-4kHz

X/O Type: 2 way

Input Type: Adv. Inst.

Cooling Fan: Yes

QBass: QBass™ Plus

And then i may go with another PPI amplifier 4 channel to power my Infinity speakers all the way around... if you have any other Subs that would work better with this amp I am open for opinions...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well i have room.... but another question... how do you tune a subwoofer yo a certain Frequency(Hz)??? and what would be a good Sealed Enclosure amount of space (Cu FT) for those 12VQs?
