Eh, I still consider Opeth my drivin' music for long trips. Long songs with intense sections, that end in like 6 minute acoustic brakedowns ftw.

well to rephrase my topic i thought originally that gwar was death metal but i hadn't really listened to any of there music and they weren't and i guess im into hard rock/metal and not death metal lol

i figured as much. my first list is a good one for metal. can't ignore the classics. black sabbath, pantera, korn's first album (and only their first album), helmet, etc.

I have demos of Dying ***** and Kataklisym. Streaks of Blood and Killing Art, respectively. Streaks of Blood is good but not my thing. Killing Art has great instrumentals but WTF is up with the anti-government conspiracy theory rambling lyrics?

Oh I know, I honestly dont care too much about lyrics though, i just listen to what I think sounds good. You cant understand what the hell he is saying anyway,

I used to think the same way. Now songs with understandable lyrics have to be meaningful or it ruins the whole song for me. Much better to just go instrumental.

I listen to other types of music for lyrical quality. Death metal I just like to lift to or hit the speed bag and shit, you cant do cardio or lift while listening to friggin mac dre lol. At least not me.

there's a band out of florida? i think, called slave to none that has one of the best drummers i've ever heard. never heard anything better.
