Death Metal fans

I don't think he was asking for suggestions, just looking for the name of that one band.
Anyway, there has only been one real Death Metal band mentioned in this thread so far, and that is Decapitated. The rest are either goth metal, nu metal, or just plain old heavy metal. Except for Dimmu Borgir. They are black metal, and bad as hell black metal at that. And by bad I mean awesome.

i don't think "death metal" was really what he was looking for. a person should really start with cannibal corpse, obituary, death, or venom to really start a list of death metal bands.

Some albums are. IMO Death Cult Armageddon is death metal, where the old Stormblast is black metal at it's finest.

I'll go with that. Enthrone is their best though.

never really liked them myself, but they are jumbled in with bands like obituary.

the kind of metal where the names of the tracks are "Gremlin trolls in the everwind forest" lol, and they have an iron maiden vocalist. I hate that shit.

well to rephrase my topic i thought originally that gwar was death metal but i hadn't really listened to any of there music and they weren't and i guess im into hard rock/metal and not death metal lol

heartwork and swansong is all I really like. The other shit was too extreme IMO and hard to even understand when you listen to it.

I have demos of Dying ***** and Kataklisym. Streaks of Blood and Killing Art, respectively. Streaks of Blood is good but not my thing. Killing Art has great instrumentals but WTF is up with the anti-government conspiracy theory rambling lyrics?

I dunno, the only metal genres that have any meaning to me are the following:

black metal

death metal

doom metal

viking metal

folk metal

power metal

Then they have their sub-genres like melodic death, funeral doom, and pagan black, but they are still death doom and black deep down inside.
