dB readings

Hi i got a scosche boom stick to day i dont know how good they are but any ways it seems about right i dont know. I was able to reach a 127.7 with my seats down well playing a bass test tone cd.I was able to reach a 128.8 in the trunk with the seats down. In the car i could feel alot of air in my face and my bumper wanted to fall off i dont know how i can get that much bass with what im runnin my gain and bass boost on my amp is low and my radio sw is set to 125 with no bass boost its set to 0

i can blow into the mic @ 172 dbs. Whats your point?

I've heard that schoshe boomsticks are not accurate at all, and max out around 130 dbs so take your readings with a grain of salt.

I had one of those boomsticks

yes they are very innacurate, and you can blow into one and max it out...lol

oh and the OP said "In the car i could feel alot of air in my face and my bumper wanted to fall off".....lol sorry my friend, but not at 127dbs...hell, I dont feel much air, and my car stays together easily...at 135dbs...my max so far, which isnt really that loud IMO

btw, what kind of setup do you have?

oops I see you posted as I was posting...btw

subs - mtx jackhammer 250 rms 12s in a ported box

those are NOT Jackhammers....a Jackhammer is the MTX 22 inch subwoofer....the 12's are just regular MTX subs.

best thing to do would be get metered on a termlab.

Mtx actually has a Jackhammer series of subs, not just the 22"

i think MTX does make those little jackhammers or something like that that come in prefab box's

edi: nevermind
