you cant get a db meter cheap. you can buy a termlab and the cheapest one ive seen is 400+shipping used. you can get a calibrated mic or something like that but its not as accurate i dont think.

anyway do you go to brighton high?

Go onto caco and check out the spl lab meter. Ther eis a vendor section for it. A brand new usb unit is under 400 shipped and they are extremely close to the tl

Anything cheap is only going to go up to 130db, most cheap systems will max those out.

There was one that a few people made threads about a while back that hooked onto a dmm, it was like 80 bucks on ebay. Probably closer than those boomsticks.
