dB Drag World Finals 10/10-12/2008

Well, I took the plunge and decided to compete this year.

I have a competitor pass (gets you into the competitor party, can go into the lanes, a shirt, lanyard, and some other shit) for sale for $50 if anybody wants it.

Just paid my entry fees:wallbash: kinda sucks with all the $ I have shelled out this year. 20 competitions,6 certified events and all the money spent on fuel. It is safe to say I am a bit over budget. And now Another $600 for the weekend of the finals. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Next year I think i will do less shows and spend more on the equiptment and the build.

Luckily indy is only a 2 hour drive for me.

Hotel split 4 ways and somebody buying my extra competitor pass helps as well.

All in all I'm probably gonna be out around $400 (depending on my alcohol consumption //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif ) when it's all said and done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

but hey, it's db drag finals!

if it was unified, I'd be there

I've said this before but....
How many competitors came out from the cali area anyways?

The FL location is gone, so it'll be pretty much like '06 finals minus a few cali people.

hmmm i didnt really think about the fl location.

There was tuan and them from cali, along with ana and rusty.

I really dont wanna drive up to indy either, whats turnout looking like?

I'm trying to understand how one can be the best in the world.......

I assume it is you sign up, do a bunch of events and your best scores are compared to those of competitors around the world.

Or something like that.

Here's how it works.

You have regional, national, and world finals.

5 different finals locations. Laughlin, indy, france, germany, and italy.

each location has a regional event. One person becaomes the "regional" champion

Winner of laughlin and indy go head to head for the "national" championship.

The winner of that faces the winner of the national championship in europe.

Thus, you have a WORLD champion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Got it.....

So if you are at that point you got sponsors and all of that right? I'm just wondering now, how would the winner get himself and the automobile to europe.

And this shit is more serious than I thought. More than just being louder than the guy next door.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
