Daytons?

Ah, I get it... sorry for being such a n00bx... we all have to learn right? lol

Someone plan my front stage for me then! Looking to spend under $300 and get LOUD (I plan to have a sub stage producing 155 decibels //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif). Of course I don't expect much sound to be heard through the bass, but I still want it to get loud and sound great even without the subs on. I want to go active.

I have a 4 channel Sundown amp coming (100 watts per channel) and could purchase another amp if needed. Only thing I'm not looking forward to buying is a separate processor or whatever if I'm going three way active....

what processer are you going to use again? I would go with the 7in run actively and the 4in and tweeter run off a passive crossover with a HPF set at about 400hz. IIRC the 880 has high/mids/sub when using crossover mode right? If so, high pass the HIGH RCA to play only 400hz and above and use a passive crossover on it to run the 4in and tweeter correctly, and use the MID RCA to run the 7in from like 80-300hz. and the SUB RCA does the sub.

Personally , I'm not all that fond with the daytons for midbass . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Yeah, nG was telling me about his experiences with Refs and midbass..
OK, I'm gonna run two AA Poly 6.5s per door and one Vifa XT25 per a-pillar (probably)... I have a Sundown Audio 100.4 coming... how would I wire this up with my P880PRS & 100.4?

your going active , think of your 4 ch as two 2 channels

Amp one is for highs , call it the "front" RCA's and set the high pass where you want it

Amp two is for mids, call it "rear" RCA's from the pioneer, and set the lowpass + high pass accordingly, (if 880 prs is capable of bandpass ) (2 ohm) I assume your going to wire the poly's parallel to the amp

Exactly what I told Kenny.
Hehe.

In my situtation The Dayton 7's were in very well sealed and deadened doors with 1 1/2" baffles vs . rainbow slc 5 1/4s in 1.5 cuft kicks . The rainbows romp the Dayton's on the low end //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If your going with the Dayton Reference, you HAVE to get a tweet that'll drop to a 1.8k~2kHz crossover point. I'm rather fond of my Morel MDT-29's for that job.
If it were me I'd source a tweet that would extend down to at least 1.4-1.6khz. I had the 180's crossed @ 2khz behind some BG Neo's and found them rather disturbing. Their sound was best @1.4 but left a huge gap between them and the Neo's I had. I actually still have both set's of drivers that I was going to fill in the gap with a dome mid and put in my beater but I got some Polks really cheap. I could be persuaded to sell them rather cheap. Heavy deadning is a must IMO.
