Dash Kit for 05 Civic LX SE

I'm going to be installing an Alpine CDA-9887 in my 2005 Civic LX Special Edition.

I;ve been searching around for a dash kit to convert the double DIN to single DIN, with a pocket and found only this, although it does nto indicate it will work on the SE.

Could anyone let me know if this will work, or if a special kit is required.

i personally like the american international kits, they seem to work the best even tho its still only held in by clips, if you can isomount it as well or backstrap to keep it safe

The last SE I did used the same kit as the older...2000 and prior civics. It was weird, but it would have been the metra 997898, or the Honk828 from AMI/bestkits.

i believe hes correct. i have the same car only the ex and it doesnt look anything like my girlfriends kit(who has an 04 thats not the se) just checked metra online and best kits and if you search for the 2000 civic and see the kits they have in parenthesis in the description it says (can be used with 01-06 double din)

I believe the Metra kit is actually Metra 99-7899. The 99-7898 works for 97-2000. I believe you can use the metra 99-7899 on 2001-2005. But with my experience, Metra kits are junk.

I've never had a problem with the metra kits for the civics. The American international kit seems to be a little more sturdy, ie. thicker plastic. I have the AI kit in my civic. I did take an extra screw through the factory bracketry into the radio to help make it more secure in the dash.

Like i said above, I'm pretty sure the Special Editions use the older civic kits pre 2001.
