Dash is to big.

So I have my new radio right, but the cage it's supposed to sit in, when put in the dash won't stay secure because the hole it was supposed to go into is to big. IT was like the perfect size, but the theife messed it up and broke parts of it. So now the hole is to big. Any ideas on what I can do to make the hole smaller so it will be secure and stay in one place.

So you bought stolen goods from a thief?

Take the little "cage" that is around the radio off. Bend some of the clips out a little bit than slide the "cage" into the dash. If it fits tight that way than just pop the radio in. I'm assuming when you say cage you mean that metal bracket that comes with all radios.

the best thing to do is to fiberglass it in the dash, that way you know it will fit and you can mold it anyway you want. you can make it look really good. This is if you really want to put the time into it and you car is worth the time.,

no the theife who broke into my car broke the dash out when he stole my radio. I just got my new radio in the mail on friday. How would I go about doing the fiberglass idea?

You'd be better off to see if any of the dash parts are replaceable and go to a junkyard and get them. Fiberglassing is not for the timid, especially in such a visible place as the dash. You could also make your own custom bracket, but without know exactly what won't fit, it's hard to suggest something. Maybe take a digital picture and post it.
