Well, here is the first set of pictures on my Second Skin install.

I did the driver's side door tonight, I wanted to compare the difference between a non-deadened door and a deadened one. Passenger side done, and wow. Mid-bass does exist.

I basically chose Second Skin cause it's the best one out there. I've used a few different brands and this one is by far the best out there. I'm pretty sure my door panel was 5lbs heavier by the time I was done.

how much dp did you buy? looks to be quite a bit. im jealous
86sqft what else //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I used about 16-20sq ft on that door.

very nice. cant wait to see this finished. are you just going to dp the car or are you going to ad some luxury liner and overkill to the mix? maybe some spectrum or sludge?
Well, considering my car is 15+ years old, I'll probably go with some sludge on the wheel wells at some point and some lux liner on the floor boards..that's down the road, I have plenty to keep me busy for now...

yeah you do. deadener takes forever to apply but is well worth the time and money you invested.

and i plan to sludge my wheel wells and spectrum the rest of my undercarriage this summer. cant wait //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

what are your audio plans for car? you can pm that info if you dont want to cludder thread up

Sent you a pm with some tricks to help speed up the install and get even better reults. Good job brother! 20 ft in each door? Dang can you even muscle the door closed with that much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Nice install.

However, I betcha my door is heavier with cheaper deadening product.............that IMO gets just as good results. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I did use a little more deadener though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I believe my cheaper front sound stage sounds as good as my buddy's and I helped him lay down some expensive cascade deadener.

What is your opinion after deadening the door? I am thinking about doing this as I have a Diesel Duramax truck in another build but I don't want to waste my oney, it is worth it? and does it really quiet the interior down? Sorry for the HIjack....

It helps with response to your front speakers and helps quiet down the door some, but if you want it too help a lot with quieting down your interior, you will need to do more than just the doors. I would do the whole shabang in the floors, doors, roof and back. Then add something like LL (Luxary Liner) to most of it, especially the floors and it would help stop mos of it.

So was it cheaper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yes, loads cheaper!

My 40sqft of SS damp was 120 something.

150sqft of fatmat was 90 plus shipping, so 115 IIRC. I did most of my car besides trunk in fatmat and sold 50sqft of it. Wish I didn't. Still have back doors and roof I would have liked to do.

But yours is the best! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ive used both and ripped the fatmat off and put damplifier pro on the doors, noticeable difference in my application, plus it was easier to apply //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
