Technically (on the stat sheet) that is a Donovan McNabb fumble. Westbrook never had possession, so it is fumble McNabb.

Then watch the replay and you can't blame Westbrook, McNabb pulled the ball (to hand off to the WR) and then tried to stuff it back into Westbrooks arms.

(same for the earlier fumble, Westbrook never had possession... McNabb fumble. But they recovered that)

Team = varies from year to year

Franchise = Lifetime of their history

2008 Dallas Cowboys = 2-0 this year

Dallas Cowboys Franchise = The Cowboys have been the most successful team of the modern era (since 1960). The team has won five Super Bowls and eight Conference Championships.

You're right. The cowboys as a "franchise" was good for a period of time... They won the super bowl in 1972, 1978 and three times in the 90's. Now it's a first-round playoff loss every year. 8 conference championships in 37 years is impressive? I guess, if you say so. They HAD a successful franchise. Maybe if they can win a playoff game they will be "good" again.

A franchise is a franchise. You can't chop it into blocks to prove a point... you can do this with any franchise in any league to get what you're saying, but it simply doesn't make any sense.

It makes a ton of sense. Don't go on about how great the cowboys are NOW. If you want to talk about the past, then talk about the past. There hasn't been anything great about them for well over a decade. I will admit, they look good this year. But they looked good last year too. If they go somewhere in the playoffs maybe they can be talked about again.
