I'm looking for more output from my type R. right now its in 2 cf @ 32hz with 26 sq. inches of port. I was thinking about 2.5cf @ 37-40hz with maybe 35-45" of port, does that seem about right? Also, will a tune that high still be able to hit some lows? in the mid 30 hz range? thanks

what kinda power you gonna put on it. I had mine on 700 watts, 3 cubes @ 32hz with about 30sq of port and it did a 144.5 on the TL outlaw in my truck. and it hit mad lows. Soul survivor chopped and screwed was about as low as it would go. late night tip C&S is also really low

I have a 12 and im feeding it right over 900w in a 2.25cf box @ 32hz. It pounds, the higher tuning will make it sound a lot louder, it may not pound so hard on the lows but it will be overall louder. I think my box is right around 31sq in of port. Its loud, I think im gonna go with a friend to get metered in the next week or so.

Yeah, i think I might make a higher tuned box just to experiment. I was just waching this vid on roe, box was tuned to 42 with 2 r's, HUGE port, maybe 100sq in. looked pretty loud.

started the box today. I designed it, 2.5cubes net, 42" of port and a 39hz tune. I hope its going to be LOUD for 1 type R

2.75 cubes is prime. 37hz is the highest you can go for a daily driver. i have had mine all over, right now its at 45. there is about 20 songs that i can play, the loudest is the "da blow" by lil jon and i am sure getting sick of it. as soon as the next comp is over these ports are outa there. and a bigger port does not equal louder.

alright, I've only cut the sides and port peices, so I think I'm going to make the box a little wider, until I up the volume to 2.75 and bring the tuning down to 37. sound good?

mostly rap, rock and metal sometimes. I'm really looking to get songs like throw it up as loud as possible but still be able to play songs that drop into the 30's. I had a box tuned at 35 and no song I listened to ever went below tuning. What should I set the ssf at tuned at 37?

R's need alot of power before problems occur if the ssf is set to low. when my box was @ 37 my subsonic was at 25. thats just where i always keep it.
What do you mean problems? ....I wont even lie to yall, I just got an amp the other day with more than two settings on it lol, so Im still expirementing with it....Sad thing is I can't tell a difference with LPF and HPF up or down. With the SSF up it seems it aint as low the higher I go up.

well if you play a 25 hz tone lets say if the box is tuned to 37. it is ok untill it hits like 2/3 on my deck and then its this sound that i dont know how to explain, i think of it as a outboard motor cavitating sound. as for anything over 37, lows are out of the picture completly. my system @ 45 right now can kinda play "you and dat" but nothing lower.

37 sounded nice. even on a song like rep yo city by lil jon it hit the lows real nice. the lowest i ever tune R boxes is at 34.

finished the box today. 2.75@37. took about 3 hours to build. Output is way up, and it still slams the lows. thug motivation cranked and I seriously can't stay in the truck! even low songs like soul survivor slam harder than ever. I'll get some pics/vids tomorrow. I love 37hz tune!!!
