cvr12 vs. maw12

my friend wants subs in his blazer and he's got a fairly tight budget. what he is looking for is sql.

i've heard good things about maws... but i never really looked into the cvr's, im just considering them because i can get them cheaper.

just looking for a general opinion on these subs

i just talked to my buddy. he is looking more towards sound quality. i got my other friend a 12" tc1000 and a profile ap1000 to push it, 2 cubic feet @ ~32hz. "i like how clean that sounds, thats what im looking for..." i hear the mach 5 is pretty clean, could it be as clean as a tc1k if it were sealed/ported?

whats out there thats as clean as a tc1000 for up to $175???

My brother has a 84 S-15, And his progression was CVR 12-->Type S 12---->Maw 15. Now all on the same power and by far we both enjoyed the sound of the Maw better. Now granted it has more cone area and more comparable output being a 15 but for the price ......why the hell not!

i'm curious to know the answer to this two. these seem to be the two most popular budget subs out there.

Since he wants SQ I wouldn't hesitate to get the Mach, the CVR's are not of my liking at all,.

i think i will tell him to get the maw... either the 12 or 15. i just want to hear how they sound... i almost got two maw 15s not too long ago, but opted for a fi q

every cvr ive owned, ported sealed, 10's 12's 15's, all sounded like shit.

I've hard CVR's and MAW's the MAW's have better SQ than the CVR's and a Lil bit better SPL to so MAW>CVR
