They react to UV not light in general and safety glass filters some UV out. This is more than likely the reason they don't change I would think.I go pick them up today. It takes a week because they are prescription. What's cool is that my rx didn't change from last year to this year and probably won't change until I get a bit older.
I have quit running around calling them baller sunglasses though. I really could use them when I drive to work and the sun is in my eyes. The transitions don't change when you are in the car for some reason.
