I applied for unemployment online, but I didnt actually go thru with it because I ended up resigning from my job. Clearly you cannot get unemployment if you resign right?

This ***** calls me from the "Unemployment Insurance office" and says that I need to tell her why I left my last job. I say "well, I resigned from my last job so im not interested in pursuing unemployment"... she says "you have no option sir". I say, "um, yes I do. I don't have to accept anything from anyone". she says "You have no option sir, you'll recieve a letter in the mail" ... then hangs up on me.
